Introducing Six Flags
New OrleansSix Flags introduces a totally transformed park in New Orleans in 2003, with new rides, new theming and a renewed commitment to bringing world-class thrills and entertainment to Louisiana. Construction is underway on $20 million in new capital that includes two new coasters -- Batman The Ride, a suspended looping coaster; and The Jester, a steel looping thriller -- plus Looney Tunes Land for kids, a DC Comics themed area, Batman Thrill Spectacular and much more.
Six Flags Announces New U.S. RidesIn addition to the two new coasters at Six Flags New Orleans, Six Flags will introduce at least two more coasters during the 2003 season. SCREAM! is Six Flags Magic Mountain\'s 16th coaster -- a Guinness Book world record. Scream! will combine traditional roller coaster technology with a unique floorless train design. Rides will be strapped into \"flying chairs\" racing at 65 mph with their feet dangling in the air -- no track above their heads, no coach around their seats!
Superman Ultimate Flight takes to the skies at Six Flags Great Adventure and Six Flags Great America. The strong stature and phenomenal airborne experience of this megacoaster promise that mere mortals will have the opportunity to soar like super heroes and flat-out fly! A unique \"flying coaster,\" it tilts passengers face down to the ground, while they hang suspended from the track above.
Guests at Six Flags Marine World can get \"seriously twisted\" on new Zonga -- a one-of-a-kind four-loop coaster that rips through inversions, spirals and barrel rolls at 65 mph. New at Six Flags Over Texas is Superman Tower of Power -- the tallest ride of its kind in the world. Riders soar 325 feet high before blasting back down in a zero-gravity freefall.
Other new rides include Greezed Lightnin\', a shuttle loop coaster at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom; the swinging, somersaulting Xcalibur at Six Flags St. Louis; Timber Hawk, a wooden coaster coming soon to Wild Waves & Enchanted Village; The Penguin\'s Blizzard River at Six Flags America, the world\'s tallest spinning rapids ride; a mine train coaster at The Great Escape, Canyon Blaster; and ErUPtion at Frontier City, a thriller that sends riders rocketing skyward bungee-style up to 225 feet in the air with an initial G-force of 2.5.
Plus, Six Flags AstroWorld in Houston will be debuting two new attractions: SWAT, a spinning, head-over-heals ride; and Diablo Falls, the world\'s tallest spinning rapids ride.
More New Thrills Around The World! In addition to the introduction of the rides above at North American parks, Six Flags will also present several new attractions in Canada and Europe. La Ronde in Montreal will unveil seven new rides -- from Toboggan Nordique (a Zig Zag coaster) to Tour de Ville (a flying carousel). In Brussels, Six Flags Belgium will roll out the Challenge of Toutankhamon, an interactive dark ride through the ancient pyramid where riders compete against each other for the best score.
